1,440 minutes in a day
Thank you for spending a few of yours to check out what Vibe Meraki is all about and how I can help you not only travel & experience the world, but to do it with purpose ūüôā

Hi! I’m Keli

Your thrill seeking, table dancing, lip singing, wine tasting, tubesock obsessed volunteer traveler, photographer & cinematographer.

Here to motivate you to step outside of your comfort zone, go where you want to go, do what you wanna do and learn and experience all the wonderful things our world has to offer.

But most importantly, I’m here to inspire you to utilize the unique & special skills you already have within you to give back to the world around us and to the very places we travel to, experience & learn from.

I was born and raised on an itty bitty island in the middle of the Pacific ocean where the culture is uniquely diverse and the energy is positive & mellow.

The beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii.

I have a love for travel, adventure, exploring new places, immersing in new cultures, trying new food, jumping on any adrenaline pumping activity, and basically leaving my comfort zone as much as possible.

¬†Growing up on an island, I’ve always wondered what it’s really like in the rest of the world. Although I lived a very laid back lifestyle, I never believed in purely existing, and have always longed to do more, go bigger and go farther.

I believe our world is overflowing with beauty, love and kind people. Recent events & mainstream media influence us to think other wise, but I’ve never been one to believe all that I see and hear in the media, and decided it’s time I experience the world for myself…

In 2016, I took my first solo international volunteer trip to Central & South America. I was on a mission to travel to other countries, learn and live a life other than the only one I know, share my experiences, and help to free minds from a prism of media manipulated world stereotypes, bringing truth to perception.

This was the trip that completely changed the course of my life. It was then I realized that I didn’t want to spend a few weeks of the year taking a trip or vacation. I wanted to turn travelling into a lifestyle, and wanted to do it with purpose.

Going on tours and seeing the “must see” places of the world were wonderful experiences, but what I enjoyed even more was spending time with the people who live there, learning more about them and their culture.

Like most, seeing and doing as much as possible while on a trip is at the top of the list, but I also feel it is equally as important to give back to the very community we adventure and experience. My goal is to show you why that is and how you can do the same!

Through volunteering, I met some truly amazing eople. Super sweet locals, as well as super fun & unique volunteers from around the world.

Purposly choosing projects completely outside of my comfort zone and doing things that I naturally have little interest and no talent in, taught me so  much about myself, and opened my eyes to new worlds.

I gained a new light of insight and appreciation for things that had never even crossed my mind before.

When I kept extending my trip and paying ridiculous amounts of flight change fees, I decided this was the last time I ever book a round trip somewhere.

At that moment, I decided from now on, it’ll be one way tickets allowing me the freedom to take as much time as I need to get a feel of a place, meet people, experience as much as possible and most importantly, learn ways to give back.

¬†Prior to my decision to switch up my rent money for travel money, sell my car and belongings and head into the world, I was like many, always in “working to survive” mode. Working to make money just to spend it all on bills.

I’ve always dreamed of travelling the world but thought it would be too expensive to live that kind of lifestyle.

But after my first volunteer trip I decided to quit dreaming and make it happen for real. Travel bug hit me hard, and I was motivated more than ever to re-arrange my life and career in order to create the kind of travel lifestyle that I’ve been craving for a long time

Within a few months, I set myself up to start living my dream lifestyle of travelling on one way tickets. Now, I am at the start of my adventure and want nothing more than to share my adventures with you, and teach you the steps to embarking on your own volunteer adventure of self-discovery.

I’m no five star hotel or fancy dining gal, but I’d love to share my cultural travels with you and show you that if I can experience the things I do on a super tight budget, you can most definitely travel the world and see all the places you want to too!

I’ve been a professional photographer in Hawaii for the past eight years, and have spent most of my life behind cameras & computers. I absolutely love what I do, but I’m feeling called to transform my career into something more meaningful.

I’ve decided to combine my love for visual storytelling and travel.  Focusing my energy into creating travel videos of my worldy adventures and experiences with the intention to inspire you to step outside of your comfort zone, experience new things, discover yourself in a new way, and learn ways to give back to the world around us.

Take your dreams, goals, inner desires that no one knows about and make it happen!

 Create your reality.

Life is just too short not to.

Never feel confined to the life you currently live. You can always take steps to change it up and make your biggest dreams happen, and truely start living.

If there are places in this world you want to see, cultures you want to learn about, thrill seeking activities you want to actually do instead of watch others do online, it’s more than possible and you totally can!

Let me show you how much closer of a reality it is than you may think ūüôā

I’ll share with you stories of the unique people I meet along the way who I believe will bring inspiration & light into our lives. I’ll share daily vlogs & photos of my adventures wherever I am in the world, sharing all the cool things I come across, but most importantly sharing with you on the daily why it’s so important to give back in any way shape or form, and how much absolute fun and self-transforming volunteering can be.

Learn from my mistakes as I give you travel tips of what to do and not to do while volunteering internationally, and show you the way to beginning your own adventure. My goal is to share with you the different ways to go about volunteering and how to choose the ideal cause that fits your needs and aligns with your personal ethical standard.

More than being my company name, Vibe Meraki is a lifestyle that I strive to live. Through all of my adventures and everything I do, my personal goal is to stay true and encompass the Vibe Meraki Lifestyle wherever I go by always remembering to add love & soul into my creative work, and leave a part of myself in whatever I do.

You ever hear someone say they can taste the love that was put into a meal? Same concept.

Anytime you put love into something you do or create, it shows. People feel it. Whether it’s how you perform at work, how you cook a meal for your family, how nicely you set the dinner table, how much craft you put in your artwork, the passion you show in your dance, the detail you put in wrapping a a gift, or just the words you choose to speak to someone in a conversation, it doesn’t go unnoticed and it really does make a difference

I encourage you to try and vibe the Vibe Meraki lifestyle too! Put your all into making your dreams a reality. Or put some extra love in daily tasks like teaching someone or just listening to someone. I promise you, it’s a good feeling to give as well as recieve.

Every moment of every day matters, and I want to thank you again and let you know that I appreciate you for taking a moment out of your day to check out what Vibe Meraki is all about.

I look forward to connecting with you!
